This is interesting, and important! Did you know the air in your home can be MORE polluted than outdoor air? Learn why, and get easy steps towards changing that fact! Thanks @seventhgeneration and the #generationgood community!
Not-so-fun fact: The air inside our homes can be 2-5x MORE polluted than outside air, per the EPA.
The reasons are pretty simple: Some of the things we keep inside our homes, the products we use, and even the building materials, contribute to the makeup of our indoor air. In addition, in many parts of the country, we've closed the windows and buttoned up our homes, which reduces the exchange of fresh air. Shorter days in winter also mean we tend to spend more time inside our homes.
The good news is that once we are aware of this, there are easy ways to improve air quality!
