Berberine. A legit super drug?

So I received a sample of the supplement Berberine and did some research into what people us it for and what it "supposedly" does for people. Well turns out there is growing evidence that this may indeed be a type of super drug. Now when I say super drug, I don't mean that it cures all the things, but the number of things that it appears to help is quite high and the tests so far have been promising. The bottle I have is marketed towards improving mental health, cholesterol, and blood sugar, but studies have begun to show it may also help with things like congestive heart failure, cancer and AIDS.
I personally have Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) and am taking it to see if it will lower my levels. They have been consistently high for a few years now, so this will be interesting to see if this works. I will definitely keep everyone posted after I've taken it a while and then have my levels retested. I've included a few links to studies about the supplement.

One thing to be aware of, this is NOT recommended for nursing and pregnant mothers.  It is thought there is a link to a bilirubin type brain disorder in babies who's mothers consumed this while pregnant/nursing.
Displacement of bilirubin from albumin by berberine.

As usual, do not start any health regimen without first talking to your doctor, I am NOT a doctor so don't take my thoughts as absolute facts and do additional research with your doctor to see if this product is right for you.
