I don't think this oral thermometer is terrible, but there are certainly better ones out there. Its is simple to use, quick (registers your temp in about 30 seconds) and has a decent sized LCD screen to view your reading. I deducted 2 stars because the screen isn't back-lit, so in dim light you may not be able to view the numbers, also the readings were off from my other thermometers. I had 3 different ones that I used all at the same time, 2 were off by about .2 degrees, this one was off (low) by over a full degree. If my temp is 104, that's a big deal. It also wasn't very consistent, I tried it 4 times and at one point the difference between its previous reading was about .5 degrees. You can see the differences in the readings in the photos below.
I'll stick with my other thermometer that has a back light and has registered more consistent readings.
