While the launcher is a GREAT idea, I, like other reviewers, can throw it farther without, I think this is because the bungee rope doesn't have very much give when stretched, it felt like it was going to break. Also I have a 100lb Lab/GSD mix and it didn't last 2 minutes in his mouth, one hard bite and the ball split. That being said I did not intend for him to get this toy because he's so aggressive. I have a corgi/husky mix who had been playing with this for several days without incident, so I would suggest this for a dog who doesn't ruminate with their toys.
I DO very much like the rope hanging off because then I don't have to put my hands on the slobbery ball and can play tug with it as well.
So I think this toy at least deserves 4 stars if you consider using it without the plastic launcher, and a less aggressive player.
