A fly trap that works?

I was extremely skeptical of this thing when I got it. At the moment I don't have an issue with flies but I do with what I think are fungus gnats from my plants. Every time I water them they come flying out of the soil, drives me crazy and grosses me out.
I placed this in the room where they are the worst, I have 6 dwarf tropical fruit trees that I need to keep moist, and a few days later, I find many dead gnats in the bottom of they bottle! (They're hard to see in the pictures because they're small, but there's many small black dots) I still can't believe it worked. I will definitely find more packages of the bait since I can't smell it once I put the lid on and it is supposed to be all natural.

*I received this product free or at a discount in exchange for my awesome, honest, unbiased opinion. No one likes things that suck.

  1. the homemade version is a gatorade bottle with a chunk of ripe fruit at the bottom, with a foil cone (open tip) in the entrance. They can go in, but they're too dumb to get back out. Worked on fruit flies, anyway.
